CMC 2024: Information For Participating Schools

Registration

To register as a school please download, fill and submit the CMC 2024 School Registration Form [Excel Sheet]. You may submit the form by emailing it to [email protected]. The last date to submit registrations is Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Guidelines for filling in the CMC 2024 School Registration Form:

Please fill in the name of the teacher who will be supervising and invigilating the Qualifier Round for the participants from your school in the ‘Name of Supervising Teacher’ field. We require the contact details – email ID and mobile number – of the supervising teacher in order to communicate important information and updates regarding the competition. We will only use the mobile number in case an unexpected situation arises. Please fill in ALL indicated details of participating students. The first and last name of participants entered here will be used for all their CMC 2024 certificates. We require the grade (class) in which participants are studying to enter them into the corresponding category of the competition. We require their email ID to communicate further information and updates regarding the competition and their date of birth for verification purposes. Please note that there is no minimum requirement or maximum limit to the number of students your school can register – you may add more rows to the registration form if more students wish to participate. The CMC Administration encourages maximum participation from all schools.

By submitting this form, schools, their supervisors, and their participating students confirm that they have read and agreed to the CMC 2024 Rules and Competition Structure. Schools and their supervisors also confirm that they have read and agreed to the CMC 2024: Information For Participating Schools found on this page.

Communication Of Information

The CMC Administration will communicate all important information and updates regarding the competition with the school’s supervisor on their email. Supervisors are requested to check their spam. The CMC Administration will NOT communicate information or updates directly to the students of participating schools. Schools and their supervisors are responsible for disseminating necessary information and ensuring that participating students are aware of rules and procedures. The CMC Administration is not responsible for any inconveniences caused to participating students due to lack of information.

The CMC Administration will directly contact participants who have scored among the top 20% in the qualifier round to invite them to participate in the final round. Hereafter, all information and updates will be communicated directly to the qualified participants by The CMC Administration via email. Participants should check their spam on the email ID submitted in the school registration form.

SUPERVISION OF QUALIFIER ROUND

CMC sees thousands of participants every year, and it is not possible for The CMC Administration to invigilate all participants directly for the Qualifier Round. We rely on faculty members of registering schools to supervise and invigilate the Qualifier Round for their students. To cater to schools from around the world, we provide a 12-hour window – from 8 AM to 8 PM IST – on Saturday, July 13, 2024, during which school supervisors may administer the Qualifier Round to their students at any time. We have shared the link to the competition portal on the email ID of the supervisors with details on how to login. Supervisors must share the same with their students. Do remember that the round lasts for 1 hour 30 minutes and this window closes at 8 PM IST, so students should begin the round no later than 6:30 PM IST. We recommend that supervisors maintain a grace period between the end of their administration and the end of this window in case of any technical difficulties. We will not be able to accept any submissions once this window closes.

School supervisors are responsible for audio and visual supervision of participating students from their school. This may be achieved via a Zoom meeting, Discord call, or in person in a room such as a computer laboratory (since the competition will be conducted online). Supervisors are requested to strictly monitor their students. Participants must not communicate with any other individual or party or refer to any external source during the competition. Participants may not seek or receive help from, or provide help to, any other participant or third party during the competition. Participants may not disclose to anyone, by any means, any of the competition content, including, but not limited to, questions and answers, unless the same has been officially and publicly published by The CMC Administration. Participants are NOT permitted to use calculators or any other aid of any kind. However, participants may use scratch paper and pencil for rough work during the competition. Participants may be requested to show that the sheets of paper being used are indeed blank. Participants are required to retain any such scratch paper used and must not dispose of it until the end of the competition. The CMC Administration reserves the right to examine the scratch paper used by any participant at any time.

Supervisors are obligated to report any unethical behavior during the competition to The CMC Administration immediately. In case of a faulty internet connection, technical difficulty, or any other issue, the supervisor is responsible for duly notifying The CMC Administration.

The Aryabhatta Award For The Best School

For each category, there shall be an Aryabhatta Award for the best school. Only registered schools with a minimum of 5 participants in a particular category can qualify for the Aryabhatta Award for that category. Qualification and achievement in each category is independent of other categories. There is no general bias towards schools that meet the qualification requirement for the Aryabhatta Award or against schools that do not. The school for which the sum of scores of its top 3 scoring participants is maximum in a particular category shall receive the award for that category. This sum will include scores of both rounds (qualifier and final), taking 0 as the final round score of participants who don’t qualify for the finals.
